Greg - I love these - they look awesome! You HAVE to do some more BTS stuff...

So in lieu of videos or BTS snaps - can you give me a breakdown of what setup for this shoot? Guessing you used the Rangers for this...

BTW I love the wide Ed Hillyer shot... that splash of light (bare or snooted head I'm guessing?!?) looks awesome..

Great work - as usual....

Hi Nathan

I actually used my Elinchrom Quadras for this shoot. Both tight headshots were done in studio with my 130 Octabox and both wider portraits were shot around the vicinty of the studio, which I'd briefly scouted with my assistant prior to the shoot. The shot of head was indeed lit with a gridded flash up the stairs and the one of Alex I think was lit with a smallish softbox and I'm guessing camera right.

The Quadras are great location lights but the quality of the adapters sold with for them to attach normal elinchrom fitting is naff - to hold an Octa they really need a bit of modding (involving replacing washers so that the whole bracket doesn't slip with the weight) - I might well post a 'how too' on that - watch this space!
