Elephant and Castle invades Westminster

When this giant elephant came to London it caused a lot of fuss and excitement so I thought it'd be worth checking out. The first day armed only with my camera I got a dead battery within minutes. So I went back two days later and caught it roaming round the West end...

The elephant itself was over forty foot tall...

Confused onlookers stare at crushed cars and a hole in the ground which had held only a few hours previously a wooden space rocket. This was a part of the elaborate street theatre organized by the French company Royal de Lux which told the story of a sultans elephant and a little girl. It was a truely bizarre but magical show to watch.
